Dina Ripsman Eylon

A scholar, writer and poet, Dina Ripsman Eylon has published the monograph Reincarnation in Jewish Mysticism and Gnosticism (The Edwin Mellen Press, 2003) and numerous articles. She writes primarily on literary theory, feminism, and religion. For the past thirteen years she has served as the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Women in Judaism: A Multidisciplinary Journal. A native Israeli, she received her B.A. at Haifa University, her M.A. at Carleton University and her Ph.D. in Post-biblical Hebrew Language and Literature at the University of Toronto. Dina was the founder and coordinator of the Vaughan Poets' Circle, a progressive group of poets. In September 2006, Dina's first collection of poetry in English, Songs of Love and Misgivings was published by Beret Days Press. Waging Change: Vaughan Poets Engage in Politics, a chapbook of political poetry she edited, was published in 2007 by Poetry Friendly Press. A collection of her poetry in Hebrew, published by Eked, is forthcoming.
